About the Inn

Set on 22 private acres in the quiet coastal village of Brooklin, Maine, the Eggemoggin Reach Inn overlooks one of New England’s most storied sailing waters.


A pine forest walking trail winds through the property, offering guests peaceful space beneath towering evergreens. Below the Inn, a working lobster yard reflects the authentic rhythms of the coast — this is real, working Maine.


Each of our eight spacious guest rooms features warm knotty pine interiors and an ocean view overlooking Eggemoggin Reach, a beloved passage for sailors and home to classic wooden schooners, including the historic Victory Chimes. From your window, you may watch vessels glide past as lobster boats return at dusk.


Just minutes away is the renowned Wooden Boat School, a centerpiece of Brooklin’s maritime heritage. The surrounding Blue Hill Peninsula is also celebrated for its exceptional coastal cuisine — from the award-winning waterfront dining at Aragosta at Goose Cove, to the beloved wood-fired creations of Tinder Hearth, to the elevated yet welcoming dining experience at The Brooklin Inn, where locals, boatbuilders, and visiting sailors gather each evening.


Stonington — one of Maine’s most picturesque fishing villages and the state’s most productive lobster port — is a scenic 30-minute drive. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are approximately one hour away, close enough to explore and far enough to return to quiet.


Here, coastal Maine remains authentic, unhurried, and deeply connected to the sea.

Our Guest Rooms

The Eggemoggin Reach Inn offers eight spacious guest rooms, each thoughtfully designed to reflect the warmth and character of coastal Maine.


Every room features sweeping ocean views overlooking Eggemoggin Reach, rustic knotty pine interiors, and a private full bath. Guests may choose from rooms appointed with two queen beds or a single king bed, offering flexibility for couples, families, or small groups traveling together.


Rooms are intentionally designed as peaceful retreats — filled with natural light, comfortable seating, and the quiet presence of the sea just beyond your window.


The Inn also features a newly refurbished shared kitchen and guest lounge — a welcoming space where guests may enjoy morning coffee, prepare light meals, play a game of pool, or gather by the fireplace after a day exploring the coast.



Whether you’re here for sailing, hiking, fine dining, or simply slowing down, your room is a comfortable and restorative place to return to.

ABOUT US

In 2022, we — Sheara and Brent, along with our daughters Ragan and Macy — became the stewards of what is now the Eggemoggin Reach Inn.


The two-story building was carefully relocated to its present 22-acre setting overlooking Eggemoggin Reach, preserving its character while giving it new life. Formerly known as the 9th Wave and the Eggemoggin Lodge, the Inn has since undergone thoughtful updates, including a newly refurbished common kitchen and welcoming guest lounge.


Our vision has been simple: to create a place where guests can slow down, breathe deeply, and experience coastal Maine as it has long been — authentic, unhurried, and connected to the sea.


We hope that during your stay you will unwind, unplug, and take full advantage of the natural beauty, maritime heritage, and exceptional dining that make this corner of Maine so special.

THINGS TO DO NEAR BROOKLIN, MAINE

Nearby attractions include the Wooden Boat School, located in the heart of Brooklin, and Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor located an hour’s drive away.  And Stonington, a picturesque fishing village, located a half-hour away, boasts the most lobsters caught of any other port in Maine.
