The Brooklin Inn:  

Great food in a casual but elevated setting (22 Reach Road, Brooklin).    The Inn also has a charming pub with the entrance located at the rear of the building.  The pub is a wonderful place to meet local families, boatbuilders and sailors just passing through.

Fin & Fern

Located on the working waterfront of Stonington Maine, this is our favorite places to eat, serving a variety of seafood, pasta, soups and salads, and sandwiches (25 Seabreeze Ave., Stongington).  Chef Andrew Chappell uses fresh ingredients and locally sourced seafood, and their pasta and sauces are homemade.

Great place to enjoy Downeast appetizers and comfort food (small portions) paired with craft cocktails and a dozen Maine beers and ciders on tap (125 South Street, Blue Hill).  This is a beautiful historic building with a quaint, authentic environment is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail and live music.

Located at the center of town, the General Store offers basic staple items, local artisan cheeses, wine and beer.  Brooklin, 2.2 mi.

The Maine Lobster Lady

This is a small, family run company deeply rooted in Maine’s Lobster industry and a wonderful place nearby to order a delicious lobster roll or fried clams or haddock sandwich, among other seafood platters.

Arborvine

This is among our favorite places for fine dining.  Located 20 minutes from the Reach Inn, in the picturesque seaside village of Blue Hill, Arborvine has become a destination for fine dining in Downeast Maine.  Chef Tim Hikade creates his menu locally sourced produce, mussels, scallops, and clams from Blue Hill Bay.  With intimate tables and cozy fireplaces, the dining rooms have been described as some of the most romantic in all of New England.

Bucks Restaurant

Just across the road from historic Condon’s Garage, made famous by Robert McCloskey’s beloved children’s book “One Morning in Maine,” Bucks combines fine dining with friendly, observant service in a casual setting (6 Cornfield Hill Road, Brooksville).    Their menu features inventive dishes made with freshly caught seafood, premium meats and locally grown produce.  Bucks also offers a raw bar stocked with oysters and clams harvested from the cold, pristine waters of Penobscot Bay.

Strong Brewing & Kitchen:

A wonderful place to drop in during the summer months to kick back and enjoy a local brew and stone-hearth pizza (7 Rope Ferry Road, Sedgwick).  SBK offers outdoor seating and a pavilion for bi-weekly live music events.  A family and dog-friendly place where children can play games while parents relax.  Sedgwick, 10.6 mi.

Fogtown:

A silver medalist at the 2021 New York Beer Competition, this brew pub offers adventurous and memorable beers made from local Maine hops. During the summer, the beer garden is a wonderful spot to hangout and meet others while chilling to a local band.  Ellsworth, 25.9 mi.

LDI Lobster

Located in Little Deer Isle at the south end of the Deer Isle Bridge, this is a great place to go on a nice day if you craving lobster or a burger or hotdog and an outdoor picnic experience (202 Little Deer Isle). The owners, Matt Cousins and Anneliese Riggall, purchased an reopened in 2016 this historically popular location.  A great place to hang out after a day’s hike or boat ride on Eggemoggin Reach.

Marlintinis Grill:  

Marlintini's is a favorite gathering place for both locals and tourists alike (83 Mines Road, Blue Hill).    You can always count on good food and a friendly environment that serves everything from soups, salads, and wraps to seafood baskets and burgers.  The perfect place for dinner with the family, watch a football game while enjoying a Maine craft beer with friends or date night!

Aragosta at Goose Cove

Named “Best Waterfront Restaurant in Maine”, this restaurant sits among one of Maine’s most spectacular and pristine oceanfront locations. Their fine dining menu reflects the seasonal flavors of the coastal region and the creative culinary palate of Chef Finigan.  Although you will need to make reservations weeks in advance for a tasting, the restaurant has happy hours (first-available starting at 5 p.m.) which offers a glimpse into the spectacular view and culinary experience.  Deer Isle, 18.2 mi.
